The St. Brandon corbels are situated in St Brandon's Church, Brancepeth Durham. They are carved in Swaledale sandstone and measure about 40cm in height. They were installed in September 2009 and are the result of 2 years work.
Starting above the font and ending above the altar, they describe the story of the Christian life. The right side belongs to the female, the left side to the male. They begin at the font with birth, then baptism, confirmation, marriage, family, prayer, death and finish at the altar with resurrection.
The finished sculptures are a culmination of ideas from the people of St.Brandon's and my own.
